What does a "healthy lifestyle" mean to you? I bet it's different than what it means to me. Health and being healthy is a personal journey that you have to explore, and I am sharing some of the things that I have discovered on my own little healthy lifestyle journey.
At the beginning of the year one of the things I put on my list of goals was to run a 5k. Honestly, I kind of just threw it on the list but never revisited it until Sunday night when my mom found a turkey trot in the Florida Keys, our annual Thanksgiving location.
Funny story, this post has been sitting in my drafts for a good few months pretty much completed, just needing the final touches. For some reason though I just kept ignoring it.
We've all been there. We wake up some mornings and just feel... blah. Sometimes we wake up and are just in a funk. Sometimes we let things that happen during our day bring us down and we just can't shake it.
I've recently been working to establish a new schedule and routine for the new season of life I am moving into- yay for new jobs, new ideas and new adventures. One thing that is always a must in my routine is workouts.
The power that a good sweat has is incredible. It can clear your mind, it can spark some imagination, it makes you feel strong and confident, it can boost your energy and your mood and hey you may even find that after a long day you sweat session may bring you a little bit of bliss.
Working out and I have had a bit of a rollercoaster relationship in the past, but in the last 9 months or so it has become a much more consistent relationship.
There are a lot of things that I have come to know in regards to the way my body and mind work, and what makes them function at their best.
When I was in high school I had very time sensitive anxiety. Being late to things or really anything other than being early made me feel all panicky inside.
Here is a little picture of my bum. Yep. The sole purpose of this photo when it was taken was to show off my butt in this super cute swimsuit because I felt GREAT in it and I love my cute little bum (which is only getting cuter may I add, thank you Beach Body.)
The new year is still fresh in our heads and for many of us so is the idea that we want to be better to ourselves this year. I didn't make any crazy health resolutions, but seeing everyone else really focusing on taking care of themselves has me putting a little more emphasize on focusing on health and wellness. These few things have been staples in helping me do so!
