Jacksonville Beach Weekend
A quick couple of days away to soak in a little vitamin D and play in the ocean is just what I needed! My sister and I headed down for a little Thursday- Sunday surf trip in Jacksonville, Florida. I went to college in Jacksonville, and though that was short lived my family and I have found a love for the area and have kept returning. So what did we do? We surfed, we ate good food, did some hot tubbing.. oh and we got tattoos, more on that later!
Where We Stayed
Our go to hotel in Jacksonville Beach is this one. The rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms, but they are newly renovated, the pool and hot tub area are great, and best of all it’s right on the beach. The location is also great because there are a restaurants, shops and bars all in walking distance or within a short drive! In my eyes you can’t go wrong with a hotel room with and ocean view with morning dolphin sightings right from your balcony!

Surfing
Traveling with surfboards can be a pain, so we rented once we got to Jacksonville. We decided to rent with Jax Surf and Paddle because they offered hard top rentals. The boards were in great condition and they delivered them right to our hotel for us! Jax Surf and Paddle also offers paddle board, kayaks, beach chairs and bikes for rent, basically anything you could need for an awesome beach day!
Tattoos
Okay, I mentioned tattoos earlier. My sister and I both ended up getting tattoos our last night in JAX at Carribbean Connection. Were they impulsive? Yeah, kind of. We called the night before to make an appointment, but they do accept walk ins. Jason Jarvis did both of our tattoos and we are super happy with them, I’d recommend if you are in the area! It may be impulsive, but I’ve developed a little bit of a habit of getting tattoos while traveling and JAX means a lot to me so it seemed fitting.
