Not all swim suits are created equal. If you are like me, you have bikinis dedicated to lounging at the pool or the beach and then you have bikinis dedicated to activities in the water. For me, I love a bikini that stays in place whether I'm paddle boarding, snorkeling, or surfing (given I usually have a wetsuit or spring suit on, but hey, sometimes you get lucky and score some awesome warm water waves!) My hands down favorite bikini is the Classic Surf Cross Back Bikini Top and Classic Surf Hipster Bikini Bottom from Ripcurl's surf essentials collection.
The top is a simple sporty style and my favorite part about it is that the cups are fixed, which means no worrying about your top sliding around. The bottoms are super simple but I love them because they don't dig into your hips so they are super flattering. They are a more cheeky cut so if you like full coverage I'd recommend trying out a different bottom.
I've got a go to bikini and I've also got my favorite springsuit and wetsuit. I love my G-Bomb Springsuit from Ripcurl. It is a 1mm suit so it is perfect for a little protection from the sun and board rash during some summer lake surfing sessions.
My favorite wetsuit is actually a new addition to my surf wardrobe. I was in the market for a new full suit so right before my little surf trip to Jacksonville, I picked up one from the Roxy POP Surf collection. The suit is 3/2mm with a chest zip. Mostly black with some fun tropical pops of color, there isn't much not to love about this suit. It gets better though! Not only is this wetsuit cute and functional, but it is also sustainable! This suit saves 104L of water during production and also is made from recycled polyester which is made from recycled plastic bottles. Each suit is made with 25 bottles! I love love love that I can wear a suit that is also helping contribute a tiny bit of good to our planets waters while I am enjoying them!
So, there you have it, all my favorite things to wear while playing in the surf! What are your favs?
