My Carry On Essentials

I think it is safe to say that I do a fair amount of traveling. This time of year, especially, I am on and off of planes fairly frequently for work. Traveling carry on is, in my opinion, the way to go!

1. The Bag:

I am obsessed with all bags from Lululemon! All of them are great quality, a durable material and they all have so many compartments and hidden pockets! My tried and true bag is the Go Getter Bag. I find that it is perfect size to fit under my seat and also hold all my essentials with out feeling overstuffed!

2. Headphones:

I cannot travel without headphones! I find that having headphones in kind of helps keep my ears from acting up or getting too painful while flying. If I plan to sleep on the flight then my current favorite tunes, or the Hamilton soundtrack, will be playing. If I'm not sleeping (pretty rare for me. I can sleep anywhere, a skill I'm pretty proud of!) then I'm listening to a podcast of sorts.

3.  A Dose of Vitamin C:

Whenever I am traveling I make sure to stash a few packets of Emergen-c in my bag! Everyone knows that to much air travel can take it's toll on your body, so if I start to feel under the weather in the slightest then it is Emergen-c to the rescue!

4. My Current Read:

Like I've said, I'm great at sleeping on planes, but regardless I still make sure to always travel with a book! Whether it is for reading while sitting in the airport or for when I'm at my destination, I love to have a book with me! Currently packed in my bag, Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis!

5. Chapstick:

Flying is very dehydrating and when I am dehydrated my lips are the first thing to suffer! Traveling with chapstick is a must! My current favorite are this one from Kopari and this one from Burt's Bees.

6. Reusable Water Bottle:

Keeping with the dehydration theme, I never ever travel without a water bottle! Not only is it good for the environment, but it also keeps you from having to buy a $7 bottle of water from the airport.

7. Stainless Steel Straws:

Another little addition to my carry on bag is a stainless steel straw or 2. Just another little way to help Mama Earth.

8. Ibuprofen:

This is kind of just a life essential for me and I think is kind of self explanatory.

9. My St. Christopher Necklace:

The protector of travel. I wear this baby around my neck every day and don't remember the last flight I took without one of these babies. For me, it has become a little bit of a superstitious thing. A bonus, I have an insane love for the brand behind the necklace, seriously check out Get Back Supply Co. The are super rad!

10. My Wallet With The Basics:

Wallet, ID, credit card, and a little bit of cash. Pretty plain and simple.

11. A Little Kick of Caffeine:

For powering through a long work weekend or for a little boost of energy before a night out, I'm obsessed with Energize! The perfect pick me up, plus the individual packets are great for throwing in your bag!

12. Shakeology:

I drink Shakeology at home and now I am starting to drink it on the road! It's great for a breakfast on the road or just to make sure I'm still putting a little bit of nutritious something in my body while away from home.

13. A Snack:

Again, another way to save a few bucks at the airport. I usually throw a few Clif Bars or Beachbars in my bag.

14. Some Essential Oils:

I haven't gotten super into the whole oils thing, but I do have a few that I carry with me that have proved useful! I usually travel with Lavender, Peppermint, Tea Tree, and Copaiba. I like to mix the first three to help get rid of cold sores should they arrive, I use the Lavender or Copaiba for anxiety, and I like the peppermint for a little energy boost or to help with random nausea.
