Life Update
Long time no write! As I'm typing this I am sitting in the airport in Bali getting ready for 30ish hours of travel. I'm headed off to my next destination, which means I'm a third of the way through my trip! I figured I while I have a moment of time and good Wifi I may as well put together a little update about how I have spent the last 3 weeks.
I started my trip in Ubud for my orientation week. During my second full day I broke out two of my crowns which meant I would be visiting a dentist here in Bali. More on that another day, but long story short is the dentist was able to cement the crowns back in and I have been going strong ever since (knock on wood. I have a few tubes of denture glue with me now just in case.) After a week exploring Ubud it was off to the island of Nusa Penida, where my volunteer project was. While on the island I got to hang out with some rad little turtle friends (I made some really sweet human friends too!) I got to help feed them, clean their tanks, and help clean their shells on a daily basis! In our downtime we explored the beautiful beaches and waters that the island had to offer and drank lots of milkshakes at the coffee shop that was right near our accomodation.
I had one weekend free on the island so I used it to go diving. It was my first ocean dive and it was amazing! We spotted a turtle, some manta rays and mola mola. Diving here in Bali made me even more excited for Madagascar, since I will be diving almost daily while I am there.
It really blows my mind that I have been gone for 3 weeks already. This is a pretty small summary of my time in Bali, but once I am home in a few weeks I plan to share a bunch of stories and experiences! Until then, it's off to Madagascar for the next adventure!
